Our Goals

In Cub Scouts we believe in having fun and learning life skills through practice.  Would you like to go camping, learn to set up a tent, tie knots or shoot a bow and arrow?  Have you ever cooked a meal over an open fire?

We do all kinds of fun activities from shooting rockets and building cars for races to hiking and studying nature.  If any of this sounds like fun, you’re welcome to join us for a meeting to see what you think.  Children in kindergarten through fifth grade are invited to join in the fun.

The Pack

The Pack is all children K-5.  We meet once a month, either at our home base or an excursion.  Our home base is The Lodge at Ascent Church, a meeting room behind the main church building.

Our excursions are diverse!  We have taken a tour of the Evergreen Fire Station, EChO facilities on Meadow Drive, visited United Airlines Air Traffic Control at DIA, the Aquarium and more.

In addition to meetings we hold a Pack Holiday Party, a Pinewood Derby and Raingutter Regatta.  There's so much to do!

The Dens

Each Den is 8-10 children of the same grade.  The dens meet once a month and have a Den Leader, typically a parent of one of the kids, who volunteers to lead the group through their advancement requirements.

Den Leaders are registered with the BSA and commit to a background check and complete the BSA's Youth Protection Training.

This year all our dens meet on Thursdays so if you have one child in Cub Scouts you have two meetings per month, one with the pack and one with your den.

Uniform

In Cub Scouts there are two types of uniform - Class A and Class B.

Class A uniform consists of the official Blue (K-3) or Tan Shirt (4-5) with our den insignia and any completed rank badges.  The shirt is worn with the current rank neckerchief, a pair of smart pants and the official Cub Scouts belt.  A red vest is optional and can be used to attach other badges and patches.  The neckerchief is provided by the Pack and will be replaced at the end of the year in our Crossover Ceremony when each child advances to the next rank.  Class A uniform is typically worn to Pack meetings and any community events.

The Class B uniform is a Pack 119 t-shirt which is worn with clothing appropriate for the event.  Den meetings, community clean-up sessions or camp-outs are typically where we wear the Class B uniform.

Class A Uniform can be purchased online through the BSA Scout Shop or the Colorado Council shop on 6th Avenue.

Class B t-shirts can be purchased at any pack or den meeting at the Lodge.

Dues

As a pack we have decided to simplify our fundraising efforts.  Each year Cub Scouts must pay their BSA fees ($25 registration plus $75 for 2023) and $100 pack dues.  Pack Dues are used to pay for our holiday party, advancement loops, badges, neckerchiefs and excursions that require an entry fee.

In addition to pack dues we host a Silent Auction at the Pinewood Derby and sell Colorado Council Camp Cards which have coupons for local businesses.
